DAN Oxygen First Aid Courses
Every diver should be able to provide emergency oxygen to an injured diver. Early provision of oxygen to an injured diver has been shown to be an important factor in the diver's recovery from a diving related injury. The DAN Asia Pacific Oxygen Provider course is focused on providing oxygen first aid for diving injuries, as well as for other situations where the provision of emergency oxygen may be beneficial.
We strongly recommend that all diving professionals (divemasters, instructors, etc) and technical divers should maintain a current qualification in Oxygen first aid, along with their CPR and general first aid training. For that matter, we simply recommend every diver should get and maintain training in oxygen first aid.
The DAN Asia Pacific Oxygen Provider course is a low stress, half day course that provides a background into various diving related maladies, the benefits of oxygen first aid, the common oxygen equipment used in diving, and the protocols and procedures for providing oxygen to an injured diver.
To attend the course, you need to have current certification in CPR. We offer the DAN Resuscitation module as an optional half day program to cover this requirement.
