Equipment Requirements for Technical Diving Course
To participate in our technical diving courses, we strongly encourage the use of a standardised approach to equipment and its configuration.
The following equipment is required, as a mimimum, for all our technical diving courses.
- Primary double cylinders: minimum of twin 10 litre cylinders. Must be connected by isolator manifold
- Deco cylinder of sufficient capacity (suggested 5.0 litre or greater)
- Aluminium or Stainless Steel backplate with continuous harness (no quick releases) or appropriate harness
- Wing style BCD (40-55 pounds of lift)
- Primary regulators (two high performance first stages, one second stage on 2m hose, one second stage on standard length hose)
- SPG (not on console).
- Deco regulator with SPG (Occy length regulator hose, short HP hose)
- Exposure protection appropriate for local diving conditions. Drysuit recommended.
- Low profile mask (backup mask recommended)
- Fins (recommended to use spring straps)
- At least two depth/time keeping device (computer may be used)
- Compass
- At least one cutting device
- At least one surface marker bag
- At least one 150ft reel or spool
- Wetnotes
An underwater light may also be required for certain courses. If required for penetration (e.g. Wreck courses), a primary and at 2 backup lights will be required.
Be prepared to study and change your configuration during the course.
